Many of us fill our bodies with toxins like caffeine (used to fuel our energy deficit), fumes (from smoking or breathing polluted air), we juggle between work, home and parties, junk food and alcohol (that comes with the season).The remedy to this is Detoxing, the process of cleansing one’s body system. What you eat is your first line of defence against toxic attack. By controlling the food intake and by choosing the right mix of food, one can gradually reduce the effects of toxic intake and improve the efficiency of your natural detox system. Things t0 remember:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Have green tea
  • Make sure you eat a wholesome breakfast
  • Eat less fat
  • Eat less sugar
  • Eat more than five servings of fruits and vegetables a day
  • Reduce caloric intake
  • Be vegetarian as far as possible
  • Eat chocolate – yes, you read it right – eat chocolate

  • 5 carrots, chopped
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 1/2 beetroot, chopped

Blend the chopped fruits in a blender until smooth. Add water as required. Serve chilled.
