Home Spa Treatments

Spa treatments can help you relax and unwind after a busy day, but many people see them as just a one off treat or indulgence. If you do not have the time or the budget to visit a spa, there are many ways you can enjoy similar treatments at home, bringing a sense of relaxation and luxury with very little cost.
With home spa treatments you can rejuvenate your complexion, revitalize your scalp, and relax your whole body. Three are some very quick and simple treatments that you can do in just 10 minutes, that will help relax and refresh you after a long, tiring day.
To relax stiff neck and shoulder muscles take a clean hand towel, roll it up and put it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Sprinkle on a few drops of lavender oil. Place another towel on the floor, and then lay day with the warm scented towel roll placed under you neck. Close your eyes and relax for 5-10 minutes.
You can refresh your eyes quickly too, simple by closing them and relaxing in a darkened room for 10 mins, or if they are very tired boil some water and steep a chamomile teabag for 5 mins. Put the tincture in the fridge until it has chilled completely, then dip two cotton pads in, and place them over closed eyes for ten minutes. This will also help reduce red, blurry eyes and puffiness.
Foot baths can be very effective for stimulating circulation and easing stress. Find a basin that will fit both your feet comfortably and fill with warm water. Add some scented bath salts, essential oils or a teaspoon of mustard powder. Wash your feet first in some clean water and then soak them for 10 mins in the scented foot bath. If you have more time available, you could give yourself a mini –pedicure afterwards. Trim your nails and use a gentle foot scrub to remove dead skin. Rinse your feet in clean water and pat dry, then smooth over a moisturising foot cream.
If your skin is looking tired, a quick facial can help brighten you up. A 5 min steam bath can open pores and help eliminate toxins and dirt from the skin. Fill a small basin with warm (not boiling) water and add a few drops of lavender oil (you can also use chamomile if you prefer). Hold your face about 5-10 inches away over the water, and drape a towel over your head to help keep in the steam. After 5 mins wash your face with a gentle cleanser and some cold water to close the pores.
Also, various home spa treatment products are available in the market which you are very affordable. These treatments are quick and easy to fit into a busy day, but are very effective at helping you unwind. Always try and make time to relax properly each day, as this will help alleviate the build up of long-term stress, and help combat feelings of tiredness and fatigue.
